About Wild Camping Cornwall

Looking for a peaceful holiday experience in West Cornwall? Come and spend some time with us at Wild Camping Cornwall! We have a small exclusive site with 4 independent pitches available, all offering different camping and glamping solutions. Whether you are a single person, a couple or a family, looking for a quiet time and wanting to spend time in nature. Get in touch to find out more about our accommodation options. All pitches are spaced at least 50m apart amongst a typically cornish landscape right in the heart of West Penwith (near St. Just). Ideal for those on a walking/cycling holiday, or those wanting a more off-grid, authentic camping experience. We are proud that no vehicles are allowed in the camping field (parking is in the next field) and there are no electric hook ups.
Nearby are some of the best golden sand beaches in the UK, the nearest is a 25 minute walk away from the site. The campsite is snuggled up agains a 12 Acre woodland, in a quiet and rural location with footpaths to the moors. However, it is still close to local shops and pubs, galleries, cafes and many other attractions. This gives you the best of both worlds; exploring the stunning wild Cornish landscape and the proximity to local facilities.
The arrival time is by 3pm on Fridays and we will come to greet you with a welcome pack in the "Camping Car Park", show you your pitch and exclusive parking space then run through the facilities on-site. Once settled in, you can sit by your campfire in peace and tranquility watching the stars (no light pollution) and feel the breeze wafting off the Atlantic.
Or... If you want a more active and educational holiday then we also run many bushcraft, green woodwork, art, upcycling, craft and traditional archery courses on site. Check out our Activities page for more details.
Facilities
We like to keep the facilities clean and functional, and basic, so for you to experience the joy and excitement of a real Wild Camping holiday.
In the whole site there are:
Firewood
We run a coppice and woodland management business from different sites in Cornwall during the winter months and that allows us to provide a certain amount of wood for campers that we offer for free at arrival.
However would you need more wood you will be able to buy it from us or feel free to bring your own.
If you will be in need of extra wood at any point of your stay, we will offer firewood at a rate of £12.00 for a flat barrow load.
Fire Procedure:
It is possible to light fires and a fire pit will be prepared before your arrival in your pitch.
Please if having fires or using cooking equipment, be aware of fire dangers and possible carbon monoxide poisoning. Use BBQ's and cookers outside your tent only and make sure your tent is pitched at a suitable distance from the fire pit and also be aware of high winds blowing sparks onto tents. Ensure the fire is put out before going to bed.
In case of emergencies there are emergency fire buckets of sand and water available.
Wild Nature
Lots of native tree species have been planted on site, wild flowers and plants, which arrive in early Spring attract butterflies and rare invertebrates. The variety of birdlife in the area is unparalleled with coastal and inland birds, and many rare species stopping off on migratory routes to and from Europe. Particularly worth looking out for the Barn Owl, which flies around the fields at dusk!
We Don't Offer
Being this a genuine Wild Camping experience, there is no electricity in the camping field. We also ask campers to play acoustic music only and until 11 pm, as a way to respect the nature of the campsite and ... the neighbours.
We also don't allow dogs and currently there are no facilities for disabled people on site.
And.. sorry we don't have bike stands, but bikes are very welcome in the campsite.
